Kristen & Steve - Anniversary Shoot

Do you ever have people in your life who you are really thankful for?  I do - I have a lot of them actually.  I really care about people in my life, my husband, my family, my friends.  I am also extremely grateful for my clients... which brings me to Kristen and Steve.  They are two people who I have been extremely thankful for.  Not only is Kristen a long-time friend, but they were some of my very first clients.  If you want to see one of my first engagement shoots ever, check out Kristen and Steve's - it was over two years ago - just after the peak of cherry blossoms on the DC mall.  I look at those now and, well... let's just say my style has changed a lot!  What I love about Kristen and Steve is that they have stuck by my side through thick and thin, and still love me, accept me, and have total confidence in my photography... and more importantly, in me as a person.  Their grace toward me is a picture of how God loves and accepts me, flaws and all.  I am so thankful for them!!

As a small gesture to say "thank you" for sticking with me from the beginning, I wanted to do something special for them in the best way I know how - take pictures.  I contacted Kristen about doing an anniversary shoot, and the timing couldn't have been more perfect - they were getting a puppy!  Even more excited than I originally was, we planned to capture their new little guy, and also take some couples pictures around Old Town Alexandria.  We had a blast and it was an awesome excuse to see their home and catch up for a bit.

Allow me to (re)introduce you to Kristen and Steve, and introduce you to Murphy, the Goldendoodle pup :)

Shooting a puppy is sometimes like shooting a toddler - sometimes unpredictable and crazy.  I couldn't help but share this shot of Murphy's "crazier" side!

So, as much as we ALL love Murphy, this shoot can't be entirely about him - we have to celebrate Kristen and Steve's anniversary!
