Taking a Week Off...!

Matt and I are leaving town today for a mid-summer vacation! The timing could not be more perfect - I'm in the midst of a really busy wedding season! We are heading up to Indian Lake in the Adirondacks for a family reunion of sorts with my dad's side of the family. It's also to celebrate my grandma's 80th birthday! It's rare to get our entire family together since we are spread over the entire east coast, so I am thankful for the time away and also the time with family. It'll also be fun because, other than our wedding day, Matt hasn't really spent any time with my extended family so he'll get to know everyone this week!
There is NO cell service or internet service up there, so even if I wanted to blog, I can't - I love blogging but it'll be nice to have a break from that, too. I hope you will come back and see me after I return and begin blogging again on Monday, July 30th!
I've been to Indian Lake three times, this will be my fourth trip. I absolutely LOVE this place! I have so many fond memories there, and even the inspiration behind my father-daughter dance at my wedding originated at Indian Lake. Me and my cousin John - we are only 7-months apart. It's crazy to look at this picture because John is a successful lawyer in upstate New York - so proud of him! It's hard to picture us being so grown up when you look at this picture.
If anyone has heard me talk about "alien marshmellows" - this is where it started!!
The last time I was at Indian Lake - circa 2003 - this is my lifelong best friend Shannon. We only get to see each other every 4-5 years so it was really special to bring her on this trip! And CHECK OUT THOSE EYEBROWS! Wow... so glad I'm not in high school anymore.
