4 Seasons: Spring

A few months ago I posted a self-timer image of me and Matt that we shot in the middle of the woods, near the pavillion where he proposed. Well, althought it's defintely not SPRING anymore, we finally remembered to take our spring picture (and dressed appropriately - we'll change it up for summer!) If you haven't seen the winter picture, you can see it here, but this all started from an idea I saw on Pinterest where you take a picture of yourselves every season during your first year of marriage and hang it in a four-picture frame. The timing is actually awesome for us because we got married right in the peak of fall, so we started our series at winter and will wrap up at our one year anniversary with the fall leaves. The hardest part is going to be differentiating spring and summer. The scenery will probably be similar, but we'll wear more summery outfits. Since we shot spring so late, we'll probably save summer for sometime in August.
Since we had one picture to base it off of, it was fun to find the same spot, and fortunately that tree in the background is a really recognizable centerpiece, which was unintentional for the winter picture, but allowed us to stand very close to the same spot! We were amazed at how different it looked... tall grass and SO green! Matt and I took a few pictures, some with the same pose as the winter picture, and others with different. We ultimately decided we liked the consistency of the same pose, so we're keeping it!
I'm such a sucker for cutesy things like this. Do you have any fun newlywed traditions?
Lastly, today's post is perfect timing to celebrate marriage - my parents have been married for 31 years today!! Happy Anniversary! Now that I am married, their example means so much more to me than ever before. I am so thankful for Godly parents who love and respect each other, and still have a TON of fun together! I love you, Mom and Dad!!

Not sure if this will help differentiate the seasons or not, but maybe for the summer one you can try to take it when the afternoon light gives everything that orange hue. That always makes me think of summer. Maybe kind of like you did in this photo?http://www.rebekahhoyt.com/picture/engagement_00010.jpg?pictureId=14430189&asGalleryImage=true Even if the surroundings don't look too much different in August, the warmth of light combined with summery clothes might just make the difference you need. :)
Hope you guys are doing well! I miss you!
