What's in the Box?

A loud, pounding fist hit my door repeatedly yesterday morning.  I thought to myself, "I'm not expecting a package until Wednesday... I wonder what it is?" - I opened the door and to my delight, there was a package for me that had arrived a DAY EARLY (when does that ever happen?)  I signed for the package, ran back inside and tore open the box.  They had arrived.  And to my delight, they were perfect.  Totally exceedeed my expectations.

WHAT IS IT, REBEKAH?!

FLASH DRIVES!  That's right, ladies and gentleman, I am keeping up with the times and am now delivering my images on these branded USB drives from flashbay.com instead of CDs and DVDs.  I had done a poll eariler this month on my blog about CDs versus USB drives, and the response was actually quite split.  I think most of the people who were in favor of CDs enjoyed the personal aspect of them, which was the main reason I was so hesitant to switch over.  However, after hearing that most people did like the idea of flash drives (and the fact that I LOVED that my photographer, Katelyn James, delivered our images on them as well) I decided to make the switch.  I am working on finding other ways to make my client experience personal so hopefully by cutting out CDs I won't lose the personal touch!

I just purchased a MacBook Air as a secondary computer/portable computer and it doesn't have a CD drive... which is TOTALLY fine with me, but I began to realize how more and more things don't include them anymore.  You can plug USB into an iPad and a MacBook Air but you can't put a CD in.  Plus, they are so much faster, and you can easily plug them in and drop the files onto anyone's computer.  Just last week we brought our wedding thumb drives to Matt's parents house so we could give them all of the wedding pictures - it was SO fast!  One and done.  Boom.  Love it.

I got these fun little tins to deliver the drives in, especially since the drives are so small and easy to lose (if you're forgetful, like me!)  That way, just like a CD comes in a CD case, now your drive has a place to stay so you are less likely to lose it, accidently reuse it, or whatever may happen.  Plus, I wasn't able to put a color version of my logo on the drive itself so this allowed me to have a full color version of the logo on the tin!  Genius!

For the record, I have to say FlashBay is a wonderful company to work with!  We went back and forth via email so many times just so they could get me exactly what I wanted.  They are very quick to respond, easy to communicate with, and I was blown away by the product in person.  Plus it shipped from China in like 2 DAYS!!  Seriously.  I placed the order on Wednesday and they were at my doorstep by the following Tuesday morning.

What do you think?  I'd love to hear some feedback!  Thanks for sharing in my excitement - yay!

Adorable! Excellent idea!! Perhaps you could personalize it in the top of the tin, almost like an insert?
